The role

As an Planner Buyer your responsibilities will be split into 3 different areas- Internal, External an Client
Understand  the companies Navigator process and the role that the direct response media planning process has to play within this.  To apply this process in the development and execution of plans

  • Upon receiving briefs from Account Manager or Director assist in the planning and buying of media campaigns.
  • Collecting, interpreting and formatting information relating to client business (including historical results data where available), brand consumers and competitive marketplace eg MINTEL, TGI, MMS (competitive spend)
  • Challenge the team’s perceptions of effective direct response media communication
  • Undertaking basic negotiation under the supervision of Account Manager/Account Director and head of discipline
  • Obtaining information and intelligence from media owners, gaining a full understanding of their strengths and weaknesses

The candidate

  • Solid experience of planning online media; agency experience preferred but not required
  • Must have experience researching target use of the web; negotiating online media space; managing online campaigns
  • A basic understanding of media tools and techniques, communication channels, direct response media strategy, development and planning process, media buying/negotiation within guidelines
  • Analytical skills – evaluation of key trends in response data, market and media dynamics
  • Experience with paid search and social media a plus
  • Basic financial awareness to include DDS, Adazzle, budgets:- gross, nett, agency commission,
  • Basic response planning metrics:- response rates, cost per response, conversion rates, cost per acquisition, return on investment
